Patrick Johnson (b. 1970), is a process based artist with his roots deeply set in Abstract Expressionism. He divides his time between creating art and creating architecture. His work can best be described as “situational storytelling”. Johnson’s work, at its core, is an exploration of raw emotion, past experiences, and all the while… interlaced with a collection of current and past dreams and memories. Much of his work  attempts to explore his early childhood years and trying to document those illusive, but significant, events along the way that seem so formative now. As he has progressed his storytelling in recent work, he has now begun to explore our connection to the equine world and other animals. The horse, the deer, the bovine, and others have significance in our physical and spiritual world.

“I believe that art creates art. While I do paint for myself, I do hope that somehow it inspires something in others to create for themselves and along the way in this journey of life…we are all connected.”
